Lifting without a scalpel
Successful Aging – supported by acupuncture, laser therapy and a healthy diet.
Crow’s feet, frown lines and rings under the eyes are the enemies of a youthful face. Most women and an increasing number of men refuse to accept the signs of aging. This is not a problem as there are many ways to smooth these pesky wrinkles.
Many such methods involve a lot of pain. Over the past few years TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), particularly acupuncture, has gradually become a very popular “soft” therapy in this area.
What is this all about?
These unnerving wrinkles are caused by weaknesses in the conjunctive tissue which, in turn, are either inherited genetically or an effect of aging and/or an unsuitable diet.
Acupuncture needles are applied painlessly on the face and other body parts along the Meridians. This improves blood circulation thus stimulating cellular metabolism. The benefits are threefold – firstly, broad detoxication, secondly, improved regeneration of cells and finally, deep relaxation throughout the body which tightens the conjunctive tissue! From a TCM perspective the wrinkles along the cheek and nasal areas lie precisely on the Meridians that correspond to the stomach and the intestines.
It is thus very important to have a balanced diet.
Let us consider that stress and unhealthy food are conducive to premature aging. In Chinese medicine the so-called “Chinese spleen” is responsible for the conjunctive tissue. The former plays a central role in the digestive process, charged with splitting up and transforming ingested food. A weakened spleen causes various digestive problems but also leads to wrinkles and cellulite.
This is why it is important to treat this weakness from the outside as well as the inside. A harmonised digestive function affects your face, figure, well-being – practically your complete health.
Acupuncture has consistently shown very good results when used as a complement to hyaluronic acid injection therapy for patients with a pronounced weakness of the conjunctive tissue. It is especially effective when used in preparing the facial skin for such treatment. Improved blood circulation and relaxed skin create an optimal state which allows the applied hyaluronic acid to be distributed more evenly and stored more effectively within the tissue.
Laser therapy is an equally effective alternative for patients that are uncomfortable with needles: the special laser has a low power density which preserves the tissue and stimulates bodily loop control systems. Laser beams, just like the needles, are applied to the specifically defined acupuncture points. They can also be used in conjunction with needles.
